Over 40,000 individuals, from senior citizens to babies and toddlers, packed Downsview Park in Toronto to participate in the JAMBANA™ Cultural Festival on Monday, August 3rd. The family cultural festival is presented by Air Jamaica and produced by Jones & Jones Productions.

Commenting on this year’s event, JAMBANA™ co-founder, Allan Jones said, “The event was a tremendous success, we had 25,000 individuals participating the last time we did the event in Brampton, this year 2009, we had over 40,000. We are just so thankful for the support from our sponsors, the vendors, the other participants, and all the people who attended. The vibes were great. We can only get bigger and better, and we have already started plans for next year’s JAMBANA™ on Monday August 2, 2010 at Downsview Park”.

Thank you all for your support and please mark your calendars for JAMBANA™ 2010 on Monday, August 2.

JAMBANA is an exciting networking, socializing, and “fun for the whole family” cultural festival. The 2010 event is produced by Jones & Jones Productions Ltd. (www.jonesandjones.ca), producers of the successful Air Jamaica Day which saw significant growth from 1,000 in 2005 to 10,000 in 2006 and 25,000 in 2007 in Ontario, Canada. This year, on August 3, 2009, JAMBANA attracted over 40,000 individuals.

JAMBANA continues to demonstrate Canada’s cultural mosaic in its finest form, through performances by internationally acclaimed reggae bands and JUNO Award winners. The rhythms of Jazz and Gospel, Dance, Comedy, the “Lick-A-Six” Domino Tournament and quizzes on history and entertainment will be programmed over the 8 hour event.

JAMBANA™ is staged on the same day as the previous festival produced by Jones & Jones and will be marketed and promoted in a similar format. Additionally, this event will be marketed to a broader audience.  The programming will be broadened to include Jazz and Gospel. Other flavours of food will be added to the festival along with the instillation of a ‘seated’ area with a nominal fee.

It is anticipated, that as in the past years events produced and marketed by Jones & Jones, JAMBANA™ will be packed from start to finish with over  40,000 anticipated to attend. This will create the opportunity for brisk sales by the vendors on location and excellent marketing and branding opportunities for sponsors.
